 By Paul Upham: Retired WBA light heavyweight world champion Danny Green has launched a new book on his career titled, “Closed Fists, Open Heart”, written with sporting journalist Daniel Lane. Green explains his shock retirement in his own words in the 256 page book, whilst going through all of the highs and lows of his life and professional boxing career. 35 year-old Green 25-3 (22) retired on March 25 this year said the decision had nothing to do with injury or any concerns that he was past his best. “Physically I am in the best shape of my life and mentally I am still as hungry as ever,” Green said at the time. “I have made a decision of an intelligent man and a man who has a lot to offer after boxing. I am looking 25 years down the track to when I have grandchildren.” The “Green Machine” will make a number of appearances over the next two weeks to meet fans and autograph copies of his new book.
